  PEN AND INK STIPPLING
Stippling, or pointillism, is a technique using pen and ink to create values by using only dots.Various size pen tips are used to achieve this affect.
It is a slow process, but a very rewarding one which results in a striking, eye-catching image.
I have included,
for you to enjoy, one of my poems which is framed with the squirrel stippling.

Furry Backyard Clown

I had taken a photo in my backyard of this squirrel and knew I
would do a stippling of it. I love the fluffy airiness of his tail.
This piece is framed with the poem.

Meditation

While visiting with a wonderful artist, Martha Luzz, of Eugene, Oregon, I photographed her home. This stand with the teapot and her Dad's Bible
became the inspiration for this stippling. I knew immediately I would stipple
it and use it as a logo for my church's Women's Bible Study.

FURRY BACKYARD CLOWN

I see you, Mr. Squirrel, my furry backyard clown.

You jump and twist and flip in the air, and never fall down.

Chasing your buddies through the trees with speeds I wouldn’t dare.

You’re unaware of danger or you just don’t seem to care.

Playing follow the leader, chasing, jumping, flying through space.

Made it!  You didn’t come falling down, landing on your face.

Frisky little fellow, you run through your courses with ease.

As you travel or’ the “high”ways through the gentle breeze.

You are on guard for predators, who might make you their meal.

Waiting, perched high on a limb, your tail you wave and reel.

Chattering, yelling, crying out - everyone’s put on guard.

Waiting for the enemy to move on, I know that’s very hard.

If you can wait it out, patience will give its reward.

After a while, the menace moves away growing very bored.

You’re off again as you scamper and wrestle with a friend.

A blessing from our Creator, you are, that seems to never end.

As long as you don’t get inside, you nosey little critter:

You eat the screens and gnaw the wood: my heart turns real bitter.

No! No! No, you don’t! Little squirrels belong outside.

You stay right where you’re meant to be, so you don’t end up fried.

And stay out of my bird feeder, pigging out on all my seed.

It’s intended for my feathered friends that you are keeping treed.

You’re an amiable clown, as long as you keep your place.

Eating acorns in a tree or running a speedy race.

Jumping in and out of bushes, and flipping all around,

Leaping quickly onto tree trunks and then back to the ground.

Or flattening yourself out on my deck to bask in the sun,

Only to jump up, give a scratch, and quickly turn and run.

You make me laugh out loud as I watch your crazy antics.

You are the best entertainment, better than TV flicks.

Just stay out of trouble and I’ll love having you around.

You’re a frisky little fellow, my furry, backyard clown.

Camp Berea Chapel

The Chapel has been the focal point of Camp Berea, in Hebron, NH
on beautiful Newfound Lake.  Many individuals, both young and old alike, have
come to believe in Jesus Christ to save them from sin and give them new life.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man comes to the Father, but by me.

Tewksbury Buffalo

When I taught K-4 kindergarten, I would take the children on a Buffalo hunt as part
of our study of American Indians. The owner of this Buffalo allowed the children to
hand feed him. It was a slimy encounter and the reactions were priceless.
